Okay, let’s say it together: those big blue bulb things are GARBAGE. I actually wish that I had brought the Baby ComfyNose Nasal Aspirator to the hospital with us when Mila was born. She was really congested and the nurses tried to use that bulb on her and it did not work at all, mostly because it was too big to even fit in her tiny nostrils. Also, you can’t ever open those things to clean them, so whatever stuff they suck up lives in there permanently. Gross.
With the Baby ComfyNose, you just use a piece of tissue or toilet paper as the filter, put one end up the baby’s nose, and suck from the other end. I know it seems kind of yuck, but it’s really not. It’s so easy, and it works so well. It comes with two nose tips, one for newborns and one for an older baby. The Nosefrida is similar, but I still recommend Baby ComfyNose over that one because you have to continually buy filters for the Nosefrida. And, though they are not ideal, sometimes plastics are a necessity and thankfully this product is BPA- and phthalate-free.
